Distinguished scholar grants 'carte blanche' to the Jinnah Archive - Sept 2007

Professor Sharif al Mujahid (SI), the renowned historian and biographer of Quaid-i-Azam, has honoured us by becoming Official Patron of the Jinnah Archive. In August 2007 he most generously granted 'carte blanche' permissions for the Archive to make use of his numerous works on South Asian history, spanning several decades.

Professor Sharif al Mujahid, renowned for his lifelong research and work into Pakistani history and in particular on the Quaid-i-Azam, has most generously granted the Jinnah Archive a 'carte blanche' to freely utilise all of his titles as a resource.

Professor Mujahid, who is currently Distinguished National Professor at the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, has authored and edited numerous publications including 'Quaid-i-Azam Jinnah: Studies in Interpretation', 'Quaid-i-Azam and His Times: A Compendium, Vol. I', 'Ideological Foundations of Pakistan', and 'Muslim League Documents, Vol. I' . He is the founder and former director of the Quaid-i-Azam Academy.

It was when the Archive was about to formally launch that Professor Mujahid first made his generous offer. In an email to the director of the Archive in August Professor Mujahid wrote: 'Heartily welcome the Jinnah Archive launching and facilitate you warmly on your initiative. ... It's a most commendable project, and I give you a carte blanche in respect of all my materials.'

In granting a 'carte blanche' Professor Mujahid has effectively given the Jinnah Archive the benefit of over sixty years of his research and expertise, for which the Archive is forever grateful.
